What is an
End-of-life doula?

An end-of-life doula, or a death doula, is one who helps guide a person and their loved ones thought the dying process. End-of-life doulas provide guidance, companionship and peace to those facing a terminal illness and/or death. Working with an end-of-life doula can start at any time before your journey from this world begins to help you have control and decide what is most important to you.Through emotional, social and spiritual support, an end-of-life doula is present for the person and loved ones and helps create an environment desired through the process.

Services

I offer a variety of services that are tailored to you, your loved ones and caregivers – through the phases of planning, dying and grieving.
I provide digital services as well as in-person services in Saratoga Springs, Albany and throughout the Capital Region of New York State.

  • Free Initial meeting – typically 1-2 hours that help me get a better understanding of your goals and wishes. From there, we can create a plan and schedule that works for you and your loved ones.

  • Support– throughout your death journey, I will be there with you and for you to provide support through various avenues. Navigating the dying process is difficult and emotional – and as your doula, I will help guide you through the stages, along with your loved ones.

  • Advance Directives – these documents are a way to allow you to outline your medical treatment and options as you desire. I will help you create your goals of care as you want to be treated.

  • Legacy Projects – are a wonderful way to create a piece of you for your loved ones to have once you are gone from this world. They keep your memory alive as you’d like it to be and are cherished by those you love.

About Me

My name is Christie and I would be honored to walk your end-of-life journey with you. I completed my End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate from The University of Vermont. Prior to being an end-of-life doula, I have worked as a speech-language pathologist in the medical field for over a decade. During my time in healthcare, I have worked very closely with Palliative Care and Hospice and found my calling in becoming an end-of-life doula to help those transition peacefully from this world the way THEY want to die and provide support for the dying and their loved ones.I currently live in Saratoga Springs with my husband, our two boys and our dog. I enjoy reading, golfing and spending time with family and friends.
